From Milk To Meat

Good Afternoon!

In most Evangelical, Pentecostal, or Charismatic congregations across Canada, an eighteen month sermon topic rotation can often be observed. It includes, repentance from dead works, faith toward God, baptisms, healing, eternal life and judgement of both the righteous and unrighteous. It takes on numerous forms and goes by many related titles but the pattern is there none-the-less.

Hebrews 5:12 through 6:3 speaks of these things as being the fundamentals and that it’s the writers desire for us to move on from them but too often we go back over and over the same territory time and time again. The Hebrew writer seems to project some level of frustration saying that he desired for us to move on but we too often we default back to the “milk” (fundamentals) of the word.

Can there be a time when we say, “ok, we get it---let’s move on past the “me” stuff and get on with real Kingdom business?

Can we actually accept and then act upon our responsibilities that accompany this spectacular thing called salvation?

We must begin to be the church rather than just go to the church.

Moving forward requires us graduating beyond selfishness, (me and my needs).

It may be that some could become quite irritated by the statement I’m about to make, but give some thought to what I suggest before you write me off.

“I believe we have selfishly wanted, “more”--- to “dwell in the Presence”--- to “seek the anointing”--- to be “celebrity focused” and too often, looking for ---“another word”. All of these have merit and even a place in our lives but aren’t they all focused on Me?

Jesus did spend great amounts of time on the mountain with His Father but in the morning He came down and DID. And the, DID, was for the pre-believer, he didn’t just huddle with His group or tribe.

We are called to take over---to dominate our world and society. This will not happen by having bigger churches, more meetings and greater conferences.

---We are a sub-culture and shouldn’t be.

---We have our own vocabulary and shouldn’t have.

---We are an insignificant part of society and shouldn’t be.

---We spend 85% of our budgets within the church building and shouldn’t.

---We try to work within the societal rules when we should be making them

---We think we are impactful and we’re not.

We must get back to the real goal of world dominance and transformation.

THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE.

Come-on Ambassadors, we represent the King, let’s start functioning like it.
